Yunquera is a White Village in the province of Malaga, Andalucia. Situated in the Mountains near Peñon de los Enamorados and El Tayo de la Caina in the Natural Reserve La Sierra de las Nieves, protected by the Unesco. Small village with a population of 3300, altitude of 298 meters, 21 km from Ronda, 61 km from Malaga and 45 minutes from Marbella and the sea. Possibly of Roman origin, although no remains are preserved, probably Christians, Visigoths settled in these areas before the Berber troops concurred Andalucia. In Roman times it was a passage of the legions in the conquest of Hispania passing of Malacca (Malaga) to the mountains of Ronda.
